I had this same problem when I upgraded in place from an XP install, but after a drive wipe and install the annoying thrashing went away in a few days, instead of a few weeks when I installed on top of XP.

I checked for viruses using antivir and i checked for spyware usign windows defender, superantispyware, and spybot and found nothing.

It never really quits. Even though we may get the MyHD cards to work with Vista, they will eventually go the way the dodo bird without vendor support, like the Hipix and AccessDTV cards before it.
Thanks for marking this as the answer. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers; however, I have had no luck with that either.
Back to Windows Vista forum 6 total posts. Can't understand how MS let Vista out the gate the way it was, constant HD thrashing is noisy and annoying to most users, especially people running myhhd quiet PC.
A "positive" message for the Vista folks: The largest program i have is open office and thats only like MB.
I had to reinstall Vista after I replaced my HD and now my wireless doesn't work.
Manually as none of my watched programs was on soon "MyHD" did the Capture I stopped it short of the full time period. What do they do anyway? Even just sitting here on the net, its thrashing my HD vidta a good un.
